IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO “ACROSS THE HALL”
Brittany Murphy stars in film noir thriller
CHATSWORTH, Calif., Sept. 25, 2009 – Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: DISK), a leading independent licensee and distributor of entertainment programming in North America, announced today that it has acquired all U.S. broadcast, home entertainment, digital and non-theatrical and video-on-demand rights to the film “Across The Hall.”
In this tense, stylish noir thriller, Terry (Danny Pino, TV’s “Cold Case”) follows his fiancée, June (Brittany Murphy, “The Ramen Girl,” “8 Mile”), to a seedy hotel where she’s meeting another man. Drunk and distraught, Terry calls best friend Julian (Mike Vogel, “Cloverfield”) and reveals that he’s holed up across the hall from the lovers with a stolen gun and murder on his mind. A chilling cat-and-mouse game ensues, forcing Julian to risk his own life to keep his friend from doing the unthinkable.
Image plans to release the film on DVD in January 2010. The deal was negotiated by Image Entertainment’s J. Beck, vice president acquisitions, feature films, with Kevin Iwashina of IP Advisors on behalf of the filmmakers.
